Blue

Blue is mysterious:
You never know exactly
What is in the blue watery deeps
Or the distant blue expanse of the sky.
Blue is a cool, crisp, sunny day
And the roaring, salty surf.
Blue is the flavor of ripe blueberries
The color of butterflies and some eyes,
The smell of some flowers,
The color of a baby boy's room,
And the sound of bluejays.
Blue is a beautiful, friendly color,
Sometimes a curious color too.
Only when you see blue babies
Is the color not welcome.
