Sweet/Sour Chicken
This dish is sooo easy to make and it is extremely tasty! I personally like to serve it with cooked white rice (you can use some of the sweet/sour sauce to flavor it!) and stir-fried fresh green beans and red bell peppers.
Ingredients:
- Chicken (2 of each: breast, legs, thighs)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon cold water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 20-ounce can pineapple chunks, drained
Directions:
- Put the chicken in a shallow 9 by 12 inch baking dish skin side down.
- Combine all remaining ingredients, except the pineapples in a small saucepan.
- Stirring constantly, heat mixture until it thickens and bubbles.
- Brush the chicken with the mixture, then Pour the remaining mixture into pan.
- Brush every 10 minutes as it bakes.
Bake at 425 degrees F for 30 minutes.
- Pour pineapple chunks into pan for the last 10 minutes of baking.
